A Drain Field Replacement Wasn’t Needed After All
Bulldog Septic was called to take a second look at a septic system another company had identified as failing. The original pipe and gravel system was installed in 1982, and the trees around it raised concerns about root intrusion.
We ran a sewer camera through the line and found a heavy blockage 32 feet from the septic tank. After excavating beyond the blockage toward the drain field, we found dry gravel. Wastewater wasn’t reaching that section of the field. We traced roots in the pipe back another 5 feet until we reached a clean, dry section, then repaired the connection so wastewater could flow to the existing drain field.
That septic line repair saved the homeowner from replacing a drain field that wasn’t receiving wastewater—and potentially saved them tens of thousands of dollars.
